History, A.B. Pre-Law

Major Course Work / Related Course Work

For a description of the History, A.B. Pre-Law major, see the Guilford College Catalog.

NOTE WELL:

  • Pre-law students should take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) in June at the end of their junior year.
  • Pre-law students should consult with the pre-law advisor, and with the Career Services Center, for more information on preparing to apply to law school.
  • All pre-law students should take courses in areas that interest them and give them strong backgrounds in reading, writing, and critical thinking.
  • A logic course may be helpful for preparation for the LSAT, and students interested in business law would do well to take courses in business and accounting. Foreign languages should be emphasized.
  • Students may take one historically based course taught by a faculty member outside of the History Department for the major, provided that the History Department approves it for the major in advance.
