Health Sciences, B.S.

The Health Sciences major is designed for students who wish to pursue graduate study in the health professions, which include medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine, or one of the allied heath professions, such as physician assistant, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or athletic training. The Health Sciences major provides a coherent program that allows students to develop an understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of the health professions.

Major Course Work

For a description of the Health Sciences major, see the Guilford College Catalog.

Note:

  • Health Sciences is an interdisciplinary major, and a second disciplinary major is required.
  • The student must have an approved Heath Professions advisor as well as an adviser from the second major. Students must work closely with a Health Professions adviser to make sure they select the necessary courses to prepare for the graduate program they desire.
  • For specific entrance requirements for health professions programs, consult the pages for Health Professions in this section of the Handbook.
