Accepted Students

Once an international application has been completed a decision is made and the applicant notified. If the international applicant has indicated a need for financial assistance a letter from the Financial Aid Office will follow indicating the type and amount of award if any that the applicant has received. At present Guilford College does not offer any need based financial awards. The only monetary awards available to an international student are merit based.

An acceptance to Guilford is based on merit only and does not guarantee that Guilford will or can meet the financial need of the student.

Once Guilford College has received the enrollment deposit and the international student has provided evidence of complete and total financial support then an I-20 will be issued. The I-20 can be taken by the student to the nearest U.S. Consulate for issuance of the F-1 Student Visa for entrance into the U.S. The accepted student can expect futher mailings during the summer related to first year programs, orientation and academic registration.

All accepted international students will be notified about and are expected to participate in the International Student Arrival Program just prior to the regular New Student Orientation Program.
