Preview Performances

Henry V
These special performances of mainstage productions provide an opportunity to see the work in its last stage of realization before viewing by the general public. Previews look just like the real thing, but give the company an opportunity to "test the waters" and make final revisions in response to audience feedback. Each performance begins with an introduction by the director, and is followed by a short post-show "talk back" with the cast.
Previews are intended for Guilford students and individual High School students traveling some distance to visit the College. Curtain time is promptly at 8:00 p.m. Early arrival recommended. Current Guilford College students must be invited by a company member to attend. High School students should phone the Admission Office to schedule a visit (336-316-2100).
The Importance of Being Earnest
By Oscar Wilde
April 15-17 and April 21-23 at 8 p.m.
Sternberger Auditorium
Directed by Michael Kamtman, visiting assistant professor of theatre studies, Oscar Wilde's comedy of wit and manners skewers the pretentiousness of the upper class. This perennials favorite provides an evening of laughter that demonstrates the potential power of humor as scathing social critique.
We're also offering a special Matinee performance on April 20, 2005. Call the Admission Office to arrange for your group to attend (336-316-2100). Or, please call the Acting Chair at 336-316-2341 to arrange to see this performance, as seating will be extremely limited. Curtain time is usually at 10:30 AM, sharp.
