Auditions for department productions are open to all currently enrolled Guilford College students, alumni, and faculty and staff members. On special occasions, we invite members of the Greensboro community to join us as well. Auditions are held in the rehearsal studio at the Theatre Studies department in the basement of Founders Hall.

Typically, auditions consist of a first screening at which all present a two-minute monologue. This requires approximately 15 to 20 minutes of paperwork and preparation. You may sign up for a time in Founders Hall lobby during the lunch and dinner hour. You may also request an audition slot by calling the department HOTLINE at 316-2199.

For the general population, we will provide a monologue for you to read over at the audition and present to the director. For Theatre majors who are sophomores and up, we require a memorized and carefully prepared piece. Of course, all are welcome to present a memorized piece.

This initial screening is followed by callbacks at which a narrowed field reads from the play or sings material from the revue.
