Choir

The Guilford College Choir provides opportunities for growth, enrichment, and service through quality performances that share the wonders of the choral art with both the college and the larger community. Annual performances include formal public concerts, college functions such as Fall Convocation, Homecoming and Commencement, and performances in the state and beyond. Traditionally, the choir has embarked upon a performing tour during spring break. The choir sings a wide variety of repertoire that includes standard choral works, as well as multicultural selections and new compositions by contemporary composers. Valuing the musical and social benefits of working with other musicians, the choir often collaborates during the annual "Holiday Offering" concert in December with professional soloists and orchestra. Throughout the year, the College Choir and Chamber Singers provide outreach to the community by performing at local Friends Meetings, Friends Homes, area churches and schools.

A non-auditioned chorus, the Guilford College Choir welcomes studentChoir Pictures who have a sincere desire to work hard, build community and explore the choral art, whether they are experienced choral singers or inexperienced newcomers. Rehearsals are designed to nurture the vocal abilities of each individual student as well as those of the entire ensemble.

The Guilford College Chamber Singers is a select ensemble of 20 singers who focus on a cappella literature spanning from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester. The Chamber Singers perform in conjunction with the College Choir on concerts and present independent performances on and off campus as well.
