Costa Rica is my country of birth and I grew up surrounded by language teachers and professors.  They are the models of my passion:education.  Guilford College is the perfect place for students, who like me, enjoy an atmosphere that encourages both free expression and academic growth.  Students who walk into our class experience a workable challenge while conversing amicably with their peers on this learning journey.  In the process of learning Spanish we get engaged in cultural aspects of the different Spanish speaking countries.

I appreciate students who are curious, who have good humor, who are optimistic, and who enjoy reflecting; those who realize that real learning takes place in the class outside of the classroom.

Where would you find me when I am not in the classroom or in my office?  I will most likely be on the tennis court hoping, fighting and competing for a MATCH POINT!
