Corporate Sponsorships and Partnerships

Since its founding, Lincoln Financial Group has recognized that good corporate citizenship is intrinsic to their success. The company's spirit of philanthropy led to the establishment of the Lincoln Financial Foundation in 1962 and inspired a rich tradition of giving over the past 46 years.
The Lincoln Financial Foundation established its Greensboro-based Charitable Contributions Committee in July 2006. In keeping with the Lincoln Foundation's mission, the Greensboro committee focuses its efforts on funding arts and culture, education/workforce development, and human services programs.
In 2008, the Lincoln Financial Foundation established the Lincoln Financial Business Leaders Forum at Guilford College. The forum is an annual event, giving Guilford Business Management students an opportunity to hear practical advice from a business leader. Business Management students are selected to attend the forum and luncheon based on high academic achievement.

The BB&T Foundation has given Guilford College a gift of $500,000 over a ten-year period. The funds will be used to support four projects that explore the moral foundations of capitalism. Using both classroom settings and engaged learning opportunities in the local, regional, and global communities, these projects are designed to enhance participant understanding of the practical and ethical dimensions of a free market economy. Beginning in the fall 2009 semester, the Guilford College Business Management Department, in partnership with the Center for Principled Problem Solving, will engage students in the following programs: (1) an interdisciplinary course on the Moral Foundations of Capitalism, (2) A Faculty Led Discussion Series on the writings of Ayn Rand, Paul Krugman, and other economic theorists, (3) A Principled Problem Solving “Ethics of Capitalism” Scholars Program, and (4) A speakers series on the theme of sustainability and capitalism.
