Business Honors and Awards
The Business Management department offers several honors and awards to high achieving business management students:
Departmental Honors
Business management students may receive departmental honors for an independent project completed over 1-2 semesters. Students must discuss the project with the Business Management department chair and reach an agreement regarding the nature of the project and the expectations.
Fred I. Courtney Management Award
A competitive cash award given to selected management majors who have completed four management courses with a minimum GPA of 3.25. To date, individual students have received certified checks as large as $4,000.
Outstanding Achievement by a Senior Continuing Education Student
Presented by the department to recognize superior performance among senior Continuing Education students. This award is presented to one student from the Business Management major and one from the Computer Information Systems (CIS) major.
Outstanding Achievement by a Senior Traditional Student
Presented by the department to recognize superior performance by senior traditional business students. This award is presented to one student from the Business Management major and one from the Computer Information Systems (CIS) major.
