Heea Crownfield, Art History and Design

Heea Crownfield is a sculptor and mixed-media artist whose work embodies an ongoing
engagement with process and nontraditional materials, exploring layering, accumulation, and
the sensuous as metaphors of embodiment. She has exhibited throughout the Southeast,
including exhibits at the Weatherspoon Art Museum and the Southeastern Center for
Contemporary Art (SECCA). While earning her M.F.A. from Clemson University, Heea’s
work was recognized in Sculpture Magazine with an Outstanding Student Achievement in
Contemporary Sculpture award. As a graduate of Guilford College, Heea received her
B.A. with high honors and departmental honors in both Art and Religious Studies.
