David Newton, Sculpture
David Newton studied painting at the Art Student’s League, and etching at Pratt Graphics Center, both in New York City. He took many classes in the Rhode Island School of Design Continuing Education program, chiefly in sculpture. He received his MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College. He has taught at several schools, including the Rhode Island School of Design, University of Connecticut, Northeastern University, and the Lacoste School of the Arts in France, at which he was Interim Academic Director. He has shown extensively, including exhibitions in New York, New England, North Carolina and Beijing. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of the City of New York and the RISD Museum.
