BARBARA FRY ENGLISH MEMORIAL FUND
The fund was established in 2006 by Jack English, Class of 1976, to honor the memory of Barbara Eileen Fry English. Jack and Barbara married while he was still a student at Guilford and they lived in the Frazier Apartments. Jack English has worked for Chevron Texaco as a geologist since 1978. He was the Sesquicentennial Distinguished Alumni Lecturer at Guilford College in 1987.
Barbara English was a professional artist specializing in oil painting, mosaics, and quilts. She was a long-time volunteer at the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry. Barbara English died September 18, 2005. They have two children, James F. English and Katherine L. English.
Earnings from the Barbara Fry English Memorial Fund will provide supplemental funding to the Art Department at Guilford College in addition to the annual operating budget.
