International Business Management Concentration

The International Business Management concentration provides students with exposure to and implementation of international business management theories necessary to conduct business globally. This concentration will assist students in understanding the practice of global business and how culture influences the practice of management. Students will also learn the difference between studying international business from a theoretical perspective and studying it in an applied way. Knowledge and concepts from the areas of business management, international studies, economics and political science are included to maximize learning the practice of global management.
Requirements
Four courses (16 credit hours) are required to complete the concentration, three required and one elective:
The three required courses are:
- ECON 221: Macroeconomic Principles
- BUS 346: International Business
- BUS 349: International Management (capstone; should be taken last)
Select one course from the following:
- BUS 321: Human Resource Management
- ECON 432: International Economics (Prerequisite: ECON 221)
- PSCI 330: International Political Economy
- PSCI 445: Globalization and its Discontents
Note: The only course with a pre-requisite is ECON 432 and the prerequisite is ECON 221, which is one of the required courses for the concentration
