We invite you to join Guilford’s Career Development Center on Facebook. Though we will update our status regularly, we’ll only use Facebook for direct messaging a few times a semester for big events. Also, we will be very intentional and only send messages appropriate to your class year.
College Central Network
Check out CCN’s Job Search Kit for the tools to build your job search resumé. You’ll find resources to create effective resumés; market yourself with professional cover letters; and prepare yourself for interviews. With formats, guides and samples, CCN’s Job Search Kit provides the basics to get you started if you’re a student, as well as a refresher course if you’ve already graduated.
Using your G# and the default password “guilford” you can start using the College Central Network. Once you log on the first time, pick a new password, and you will be ready to go.
Our staff will also use this tool to help make your experiences in the Career Development Center better and help keep track of your progress while you’re a student.
Digication
An easy-to-use portfolio management system, Digication allows you to use a “drag-and-drop style system using your Guilford login information. You can build your own online portfolio, including videos, pictures and other files into beautifully organized presentations.
Digication is a great place to save papers so you don’t run the risk of losing them on a USB drive, but it is so much more. Use it to archive learning, discovery, progress, achievement and reflection.
Triad InternNet
Triad InternNet is a fantastic resource for finding local internships. This free networking service receives support from the local chamber of commerce.
Linkedin
Linkedin is an easy way to keep a running online resumé that can connect seamlessly with potential employers. It also offers opportunities for endorsements from others that serve as references. It helps you build a professional network with people in your targeted career areas or companies.
