Multicultural Education

The Multicultural Education Department takes an inclusive approach as strives to educate and celebrate diversity and multiculturalism on the campus of Guilford College. As our staff and students seek to build bridges, both on campus and in the greater Greensboro community, we invite students to be catalysts for positive change by visiting with us and participating in programming and workshops sponsored by the department.
The Multicultural Education Department is comprised of the Latino Community; GLBTQA (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Allied) Community; Native American Community; Africana Community; and the Multicultural Leadership Scholars.
Our efforts extend to numerous groups on campus: we directly support the Guilford College Anti-Racism Team and we work with the Faculty Development Committee in their efforts to recruit and retain traditionally underrepresented populations. Our aim with the Leadership Cooperative is to increase leadership and professional development among Guilford College’s underrepresented student population. In addition, the department partners with the International Student Advisor and alternative learning community, (The Learning Commons) to form a Multicultural Education Team.
