Academic Support
Learning Commons
The Learning Commons (LC) helps students develop strategies for more effective and efficient learning across the curriculum and throughout their lives. The LC provides academic support for all students, including Early College, CCE, traditional, honors, under-prepared, students with special needs, students on academic probation, and those doing creative writing, advanced course work, or senior theses.
Disability Resources
Guilford is proud of its support services for students with learning differences: we have a broad system of services that students find useful and encouraging. Our advisers work with students individually to help them carefully plan/balance their classes and schedules.
Multicultural Education
The Multicultural Education Department takes an inclusive approach as strives to educate and celebrate diversity and multiculturalism on the campus of Guilford College. As our staff and students seek to build bridges, both on campus and in the greater Greensboro community, we invite students to be catalysts for positive change by visiting with us and participating in programming and workshops sponsored by the department.
First Year Experience
The first year of college is full of transitions and Guilford’s First Year Program fosters the academic, social and personal transitions necessary for successful participation in the total life of the College community. The First Year Program begins with the moment you choose Guilford, continues into Orientation and extends through your first year until you declare a major.
Conflict Resolution Center
CONFLICT HURTS, BUT . . . we believe working though it in a neutral, comfortable and safe environment strengthens relationships greatly. You don’t have to keep fighting, hiding or give up!
