Charysse Brown ‘11 (Biology and Health Science major). Charysse has been accepted into the P.A. program at Chatham University. She will begin in the Fall of 2012.

Stephanie Blankenship ’11 (Biology, Health Science and Psychology major). Stephanie completed a REU and research project at Guilford and Wake Forest University, presented at regional scientific meetings and defended an honors thesis at Guilford. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of South Florida.

Mahmoud Saleh ’11 (Biology and Chemistry major). Mahmoud completed a research project at Guilford, presented his work and received an award at regional scientific meetings and defended an honors thesis at Guilford. He is currently employed by Syngenta and is applying to medical school.

Melissa Wilks ’10 (Biology major, Chemistry minor). Melissa conducted research at the University of Kentucky and Guilford. She presented her work at regional meetings and defended an honors thesis. She is currently pursuing her M.S. at the University of Ohio-Akron.

Tonya Johnson ’10 (Biology major, Chemistry minor). Tonya completed a research project, presented at regional scientific meetings and defended an honors thesis at Guilford. She also served as an officer in local and regional chapters of Honor society and collegiate academy of the North Carolina Academy of Science. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Clemson University.

Sara Lachance ’11 (Biology major, Chemistry minor). Sara completed a research project at Duke University, defended her honors thesis and presented and won awards at regional scientific meetings. She was also an officer in local and regional chapters of Honor society and collegiate division of NC Academy of Science. Sara was accepted into medical school starting in Fall 2012.

Kelsey Penland ’11 (Biology and Health Science major). Kelsey completed a research project at Guilford, presented her work at regional meetings and defended an honors thesis. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Louisiana State University.

Amanda Haungs ’11 (Biology major, Chemistry minor). Amanda completed a research project at Guilford, defended an honors thesis and presented her work and received an award at regional meetings. She is currently a lab analyst with Bestsweet.

Liz Killion ’11 (Biology major, Chemistry minor). Liz completed a research project at Wake Forest University, presented at regional meetings and defended an honors thesis. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition at Tufts University.

Seth Congdon ’10 (Biology and Health Science major). Seth completed a research project, received an award for his presentation at a regional meeting and defended an honors thesis at Guilford. He will be attending Medical School at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Fall of 2012.

Kim Heck ’11 (Biology major, Chemistry and Integrated Science minor). Kim completed a research project at Guilford and NC state University, presented her work at regional meetings and defended an honors thesis. She is pursuing a M.S./Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics at The Ohio State University.

Elliott Diggs ’11 (Biology major, Integrated Science minor). Elliott completed a research project through a Study Abroad Program in Australia. He presented his work at regional meetings and defended a thesis at Guilford. He currently pursuing an M.S. at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

Jessica Klaphaak ’11 (Biology major, Chemistry minor). Jessica completed a research project at Wake Forest University, presented at regional meetings and defended an honors thesis. She is pursuing her M.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
