Experiential Learning Opportunities
Senior Thesis
Senior Thesis is an honors opportunity for art majors to completely immerse themselves in their artwork. If accepted into the program, the individual student will have the freedom to craft his or her own curriculum for the year, decide the direction they want their artwork to go, and have their own personal studio for the entire year. Senior thesis students are also given consistent assistance from all art faculty and group critiques with the other senior thesis students. Part of the senior thesis is a required Professional Practices course with the Director of the Art Gallery, which teaches you the skills you need to present and document your thesis work, write an art resume, prepare packets of images and materials to apply for exhibits and graduate school and suggestions for how to support yourself as an artist. Essentially, the senior thesis program is to prepare serious artists for an art-related career or graduate school after graduation.
