Chalking Policy

Chalking is permitted as a form of expression at Guilford with the following guidelines:

  1. The content of the chalking must not violate any provision of the Guilford College Student Conduct Code as outlined in the Guilford College Student Handbook.

  2. Chalking is limited to sidewalks. Any chalking found on any building whether academic or residential will be deemed in violation of the Student Conduct Code and will result in formal judicial charges and monetary penalties for removal.

  3. Only chalk may be used for this form of expression. Other materials including, but not limited to, paint, permanent markers, blood, clay and/or ink are not permitted and will be deemed in violation of the Student Conduct Code, resulting in formal judicial charges and monetary penalties for removal.
