Event Proposal
Do you need money for a campus event/project?

1. Plan the event/project in as much detail as you can. Make sure you will definitely be able to hold the event/project, and that it will have wide appeal to Guilford students.

2. Fill out a Proposal Template as fully as you can. The more specific the information you can give us about the event/project and it's costs, the better!

3. Email your proposal to senate@guilford.edu by 2:00pm on the Sunday before the next Senate meeting.

4. Your proposal will be reviewed at the next Steering meeting (held Sunday's at 2:30pm). Steering will email you back with questions and suggestions to help improve your proposal before it referring it to either ICC, SCC, SRC, or full Senate (see committee section for more information).

5. If referred to full Senate, email your revised proposal back to senate@guilford.edu by the following Wednesday at 5:00pm.

6. Your proposal will now be heard by the full Senate. At the first Wednesday meeting you will be given five minutes to outline your proposal and answer clarifying questions. Your proposal will then be shelved until the following wee, giving the Senators time to talk with their constituencies and gather information.

7. At the next meeting, Senate will deliberate on your proposal and have the option of coming to consensus. A decision won't be made until it has received the support of the full Senate.

8. Congratulations, you’re done! Now go back and start it again...

Starting a New Student Organization or Club

Fill out a New Student Organization Packet as completely as you can. The more information and details that you have, the better.

4. Your packet will be reviewed at the next Steering meeting (held Sunday's at 2:30pm). Steering will email you back with questions and suggestions to help improve your packetl before it referring it to either ICC, SCC, SRC, or full Senate (see committee section for more information).

5. If referred to full Senate, email your revised packet back to senate@guilford.edu by the following Wednesday at 5:00pm.

6. Your new student organization proposal will now be heard by the full Senate. At the first Wednesday meeting you will be given five minutes to discuss your proposed organization and answer clarifying questions. Your proposal will then be shelved until the following week, giving the Senators time to talk with their constituencies and gather information.

7. At the next meeting, Senate will deliberate on your proposal and have the option of coming to consensus. A decision won't be made until it has received the support of the full Senate.
