Office of the President
The President of Community Senate is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Senate business. The President presides over Community Senate meetings, chairs the Steering Committee, and serves as ex officio member on all Senate committees. The President also acts on behalf of the traditional student body at meetings of the Board of Trustees, the Administrative Council, and Strategic and Long Range Planning. Some powers of the presidency include:
The power to call Senate into session.
The power to call for a vote if consensus cannot be reached.
The power to fill all Senate vacancies upon the recommendation of the Executive Council and the consent of the Senate.
The authority to sign requisitions if the Treasurer is unavailable.
