Student Financial Services

WELCOME to the Student Financial Services Office. The Student Financial Services Office combines the functions of the traditional Financial Aid Office and Students Accounts Office. Financial assistance at Guilford College is based on need or exceptional academic or other merit achievement. The college makes every effort to ensure that every qualified student will have an opportunity to attend, regardless of financial circumstances. Students demonstrating eligibility receive a package of assistance composed of scholarships and grants, and/or loans and work. We are eager to get to know you and to be of service to you as you undertake this challenging and rewarding enterprise.

Through federal, state and institutional financial aid programs, as well as a monthly payment plan option, we try to help familes manage the cost of a quality education at Guilford College.

****IMPORTANT****

Due to a recent change in rules governing the federal Pell Grant Program, it is now possible for students who have received 2 full-time semesters of Pell Grant funding during the current academic year to receive an additional semester's grant during the upcoming summer term. IF you plan to enroll in summer school at Guilford and wish to receive additional PELL Grant funding, you must file your 2009-10 FAFSA BEFORE you can be awarded your Pell Grant for this coming summer. When you file your 2009-10 FAFSA AND know how many school hours you plan to take, email your Student Financial Services counselor in order that we might authorize the correct summer school financial aid package. Pell Grants will be awarded on the same part-time or full-time enrollment basis as during the academic semesters. This federal ruling does NOT apply to federal student LOANS. If you have already used your full year's loan eligibility, there can be no additional student loan funding for the summer. You can find the Student Financial Services contact information up in the left hand corner under Contact US link.
