Guilford College presents...
5 Competitions, 5 Months, $500 Cash Valued Prize

The Element is a 5-month-series in which each month participants will compete for their respective titles. A winner and a runner-up will be chosen to compete for a$500 cash valued prize, incentive package** and the title as “The Element ”.
The competitions will take place in four different disciplines: Musical Artists (Singers & Rappers), Dance (Group & Individual), Poetry/Spoken Word, and Step.
There will be a winner and a runner up for each competition; these two individuals or groups will compete in the Grand Finale event in April 2010.
The winners and runners up will battle it out and the winner of each competition will advance to the final round.
The winner of the final round will be deemed “The Element” and will receive a cash valued prize of $500
The judging panel will consist of four of the judges from the prior months but the audience participation will weigh more heavily than it did before.
Each event will have a DJ, an emcee, and a panel of judges. Crowd participation is a major component of the judging.
This competition is open to all persons 18 years of age and above in the Greensboro area & abroad; that includes students of Guilford College, GTCC, A&T, UNC-Greensboro, Bennett College, Greensboro College, Elon, Winston Salem State University, Wake Forest, Salem College, and all community members.
