Art Gallery
Housed in the Hege Library, the Guilford College Art Gallery opened in 1990 with more than 3,500 square feet devoted to exhibiting the college's permanent art collection and occasional temporary exhibitions. In addition to a central enclosed gallery, there are eight atrium galleries, vitrines, and an art storage and preparation area, which is utilized by the gallery's curator. The Permanent Collection, which spans more than 4,000 years and four continents, now includes more than 1,100 objects by nearly 500 artists. Exhibitions of modern and contemporary art reflect social and cultural issues in line with the college's Quaker tradition.
