Please read the following instructions carefully.
To turn machine on, press gray power switch on right side panel.
Push film reel as far as it will go onto left spindle so that film feeds off the top to the right.
Grasp film carrier handle and pull out until glass pops up.
Feed film to the right under rollers, between the glass plates, and over the top of the take-up reel. Insert film into slot on take-up reel. The easiest way to load the film is to roll out about 2 feet of film with your hands and then insert the film into the film path from the front. You must insert the film into the slot on the take-up reel from the front. The black knobs near the reels may be used to slowly move film forward and backward.
Push carrier back into reading position. If image is not upright on the screen, rotate it by turning the knob at lower right corner of front panel.
To search film, use right or left red button to advance or rewind quickly, and gray buttons to move it slowly.
Under the screen are the focus and zoom lenses. Turn the blue (upper) ring to zoom in or out, and the gray (lower) ring to improve focus. Zoom out during searching, then zoom in to read or copy article.
To position image on screen, grasp carrier handle and move left-right or up-down as needed.
The machine will print the entire image within the brackets on the screen, and you may choose either "portrait" (vertical) or "landscape"(horizontal) brackets by pressing the "output format" button at the top of control panel to the right of the screen.
Notice the green LED (lights) around the screen. These define the height and width of the area being printed. Manual masking is recommended to save toner and to eliminate clutter around the edges of your print. You may set the masking by pressing one of the green LED for the bottom, top, left and right margins of the desired areas.
Once you have manually masked the area, select the "fit" setting on the control panel to print the image as large as possible on the page. "Fit" is the second icon under "centering/fit."
Use your FOB (copy button) on the scanner, and press the blue-green print button when you are ready. The print will emerge from the attached printer in about 20 seconds.
Please rewind when you are finished. Turn power off on machine and return microfilm to the boxes on top of the cabinets.
