The Writing ZoneIn the Writing Zone you will find information on all things writing, including information on plagarism, honor code stabdards, and grading standards. You've probably heard this before, but we'll say it again: Guilford is a writing intensive school, no matter what you major in. As a student at Guilford College, you'll be expected to use writing as a tool for thinking deeply. Making the transition to Guilford can be rocky at times, especially if you aren't sure what's expected of you. But that's what the Writing Zone is for. At the LC, we recognize that each writer has a different way of approaching the writing process, a different style of writing, a different voice, a different writing zone. Rather than talking only about the rules of writing, the Writing Zone uses examples of student writing and our responses to it as a way of focusing on the writing process and what it means to be a writer. These pages feature a paper written by a first-year student to give you both an idea of what kind of work you can expect to do and what kind of results your professors will expect from you.
