Your Print and Copy Account
- How to add more paper to your Guilford account
Students can add pages to their allocation at a cost of $4.00/100 pages by coming to the IT&S Help Desk. (You may buy less than 100 pages at a time.) Payment is done by billing your student account. Students who wish to pay cash can do so by going to the Cashier's Office, paying cash, and bringing us proof of payment to credit your account.
- How to know when you need to add paper
You print a page, but nothing prints. First make sure you selected the correct printer before printing. Then, come to the Help Desk to add more paper.
- Information about amount of paper given per semester
Each student receives a printing and copying allocation of $12.00 (300 pages at $0.04 per page or $0.40 per page on the color printer) for each Fall or Spring semester and $8.00 (200 pages at $0.04 per page or $0.40 per page on the color printer) for each summer in which he or she is registered. All allocations will be set to zero at the beginning of each academic year. In other words, any unused pages will carry over from Fall to Spring, but not from one academic year to the next.
Students cannot transfer pages from their allocation to another student.
- How to get reimbursed after printing for a teacher, department or club
Department and student organization advisors can email help@guilford.edu and have pages added to student allocations at the cost of $4.00/100 pages. The organization will have to provide a budget number that the cost is to be charged. Voicemail or phone requests to increase an allocation will not be accepted.
- For multiple copies, is it best to print one and copy the rest, or to print them all?
For a relatively small number of copies (250 total pages or less), it likely makes sense to simply print the number of copies needed. The printer/copiers use the same resources whether working as a printer or a copier. For a large number of copies, it will still often make sense to have the print shop make the copies.
