Campus Network Maintenance on Friday, December 28th, 2007
On Friday, December 28th, IT&S will be upgrading the core campus network switch in the Bauman Telecommunications Center. From 8 AM to 5 PM, staff members will be installing and wiring new networking equipment in the data center.
If you are off-campus on Friday, the following services will be unavailable:
* Guilford College websites (including Moodle and BannerWeb)
* Guilford College email (Lotus Notes)
* Access to share spaces
* Access to connect to campus using Citrix or VPN
* Campus phones and voicemail
If you are on-campus on Friday, the following services will be unavailable:
* Network connectivity
* Phones and voicemail (including emergency phones)
* Guilford College websites (including Moodle and BannerWeb)
* Guilford College email (Lotus Notes)
* Access to share spaces
Card access to residence halls will not be affected.
While access to email will be unavailable during the day, most email providers will continue to try to send delayed messages and will deliver your email after the new equipment installation is complete. On-campus cable television will not be impacted, though media devices that require Internet access for full functionality (like Tivos) will not be able to connect to the Internet to get updates.
