Lotus Notes Upgrade
The college has updated Lotus Notes to version 7 this summer. Due to this change, beginning fall 2007, students will only be able to access Lotus Notes through the Guilford Web site. Lotus Notes clients will not be installed on student accounts unless requested. Due to this upgrade, the browser of choice for both Mac and PC is Firefox 1.5 or higher. Check the Guilford Buzz and IT&S Web page for further updates about e-mail.
Bauman B10 Gets New Macs
Guilford College adds back a full Mac lab this year. This is part of reorganization of the tables to better utilize the space in Bauman B10. With the ability for Macs to load either Windows or OSX converting this space to all Macs allows for more flexibility to those faculty teaching in that classroom. Additionally, with the increase in video production on campus a Mac lab/classroom creates more places for students to work on these video projects.
Moodle Upgrade
May 2007 IT&S upgraded our Moodle systems to the latest version and placed the system on a higher availability. Approximately 80 faculty use the college's Moodle system with over 300 courses currently online.
