Probationary Period

2.300 INITIAL 180 DAY PROBATIONARY PERIOD

All new employees are hired under an initial 180 day probationary period. During this probationary period, the employee will be closely supervised and her or his ability and skill in learning the work will be evaluated. Adaptation to the work environment will also be closely monitored. During this time of intensive training, the employee should not hesitate to talk with her or his supervisor regarding any problems or concerns that she or he may encounter. Provided that the new employee's work performance is satisfactory at the end of the probationary period, she or he will become a regular full-time or part-time employee.

On an exception basis this probationary period may be extended for an additional thirty days.
