There are numerous ways to support Guilford's environmental sustainability efforts, from financial contributions to volunteering for Earth Day. Here is a list of ways that students, faculty, staff, and the greater Guilford community can encourage environmental sustainability at Guilford.

 

Make a Donation: Giving financial support for the Environmental Studies Program, the Green Initiative, or the Sustainability Council is easy and helpful, no matter the amount. If you are interested in giving, you can make a check out to Guilford College, with Sustainabilit Initiative in the memo line.

 

The Environmental Studies Program: Major, concentrate, or just take a class, and you will learn about individual and group efforts to create environmental sustainability at Guilford. To learn more about the ENVS Department, visit their website.

 

Volunteer: There are a lot of volunteering opportunities at Guilford and in the Greensboro community listed on our calendar, which contains information on upcoming activities sponsored or supported by the Sustainability Office. Join an Environmental Club or Oranization: There are many environmental clubs on campus, including Forevergreen, Outdoors Club, The Greenleaf Coffee Co-op,The Pines Environmental House, the Sustainability Council, and the Veggie Co-op. There are also clubs and organizations in the wider Greensboro area, including Deep Roots(an organic food co-op), The Sierra Club, and The Piedmont Hiking and Outing Club (based in Greensboro).

 

Individual Efforts: There are numerous ways to encourage environmental sustainability through everyday living.
