Campus Life Staff Responsibilities

This page will inform the community of specific responsibilities handled by Office for Campus Life staff. The following areas comprise the Office for Campus Life and report to Aaron Fetrow, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (afetrow@guilford.edu). General questions or concerns regarding campus life at the college may be directed to him or to the Office Manager for Campus Life, Tracy Furjanic (furjanictv@guilford.edu).

Residence Life and Judicial Affairs: Jennifer Agor(jagor@guilford.edu) is associate dean for campus life with responsibility for the areas of residence life, orientation and general student concerns. Kris Gray (kgray2@guilford.edu) is housing coordinator and has direct oversight for residence hall operations, including roommate assignments and coordination with the facilities department. Susanna Young (syoung@guilford.edu) is the director of residence life and has direct responsibility for the Resident Advisor and Hall Director programs and general student concerns.  Sandy Bowles (sbowles@guilford.edu) is the director of student judicial affairs and has direct responsibility for the judicial process and general student concerns. Sandy also works with sexual assault and other gender issues. Meg Evans, Nick Pendergraft, Dennis Scott, Larry Cummings, Lili Sharpless, Torry Reynolds, Kristin Charest and Yacoub Saad are professional hall directors and hold secondary responsibilities in Campus Life.

Student Leadership and Engagement and Orientation: Bill Woodward (bwoodwar@guilford.edu) is associate dean for campus life with responsibility for the areas of retention, student leadership and engagement, judicial affairs and intramurals. Erica Cosentino (cosentinoer@guilford.edu) is director of student leadership and engagement with responsibility for leadership development, working with Campus Activities Board, WQFS, The Quaker, oversight of clubs and student organizations, and other opportunities for student involvement on campus. Jennifer Agor (jagor@guilford.edu) is director of new student programs with responsibility for CHAOS (orientation), new student programming, and assisting with first year experience lab.

First Year Experience: Clay Harshaw (charshaw@guilford.edu) serves as Coordinator of the First Year Experience, with responsibility for the academic component of the First Year Experience class.

Student Counseling Services: Gaither Terrell (gterrell@guilford.edu) is the Director of Student Counseling Services. Ernest McCoy (emccoy@guilford.edu) and Elizabeth Inman (inmanee@guilford.edu) provide part-time counseling services. Susan Smith (ssmith@guilford.edu; 316-2163) serves as administrative assistant.

Student Health: Helen Rice (hrice@guilford.edu) is director of Student Health. Helen also coordinates the physician assistants on campus and well as the college's services provided by Urgent Medical Care on Pomona Drive. Anita Masterson (amasters@guilford.edu) is the part-time assistant director of Student Health. She coordinates the physician assistants on campus and well as the college's services provided by Urgent Care Medical on Pomona Drive. Susan Smith (ssmith@guilford.edu; 316-2194) serves as administrative assistant.
