Project HOME
Our Mission:
To provide basic home repairs to low-income homeowners.
Background:
HOME of Guilford College was founded by three students who wanted to address the problem of substandard housing in Greensboro and, by doing so, permanently improve the Greensboro community. Today, HOME continues as a student organization of Guilford College that provides free housing repair. Targeting a broad group of disadvantaged citizens, HOME couples the energy of college students with the goodwill of the members of Greensboro communities to bring houses up to code and enable residents to be proud of the place in which they live. At the same time, HOME serves the educational purpose of Guilford College by cultivating leadership, management and marketing skills in students. During projects, students assume the entire responsibility for recruiting volunteers, soliciting donations, supervising repairs and communicating with clients.
