NACElink
What is NACElink?
NACElink is a national, web-based system for recruiting college students for all types of employment, e.g., full-time, part-time, internship, co-op, work-study, alumni, etc. NACElink includes three components: job-posting, resume data base, and interview scheduling.
This system is the result of an alliance among the nonprofit professional associations, NACE and DirectEmployers Association, and an initial collaborating group of career centers. The strength of DirectEmployers Association in developing Internet-based technology tools complements NACE's nearly 50-year history as the national source for information about the career development and recruitment of college graduates.
NACElink is available to employers to post jobs and search for students and new graduates in several ways.
- The job posting component features all types of employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time, internship, summer, cooperative education assignment, fellowship, contract, alumni, and volunteer.
- The employer enters information on NACElink.com about a job once, then can post the job at any or all NACElink schools. This holds true for any changes the employer wishes to make to that posting; the employer edits (or deletes) the posting once, and that change is reflected wherever the posting appears.
- The employer determines how the student applies for the job, e.g., the employer can send the student to the company web site to apply, can provide contact and snail-mail instructions, or can have the student apply directly through NACElink. The employer can track job postings by requisition number, a capability that is especially useful to employers who have to manage a large number of job postings.
The job posting component features all types of employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time, internship, summer, cooperative education assignment, fellowship, contract, alumni, and volunteer.
Job Search
- The student can search for jobs using a variety of criteria including industry, job function, type of job (full-time, part-time, internship, etc.), geographic preference(s), employer name, etc.
- The student can create job-search agents: notification of jobs that fit his/her criteria. (Note: Students specify their criteria when they register with the system.)
- The student can apply for jobs directly through the system, and send a cover letter, resume, and other documents that are stored in the NACElink system. (Note: Employers specify the application process, and may require students to use a different application process, e.g. snail mail.)
Resume Data Base
- Students at NACElink Connect schools have the option of putting their resumes into a data base on NACElink.com. A student does not have to have a resume in the data base in order to view job postings.
- The resume data base enables students to "upload" their resumes to www2.nacelink.com from a variety of word processing formats.
- The resume data base stores up to 10 resumes and 10 cover letters per student. In addition, students can upload up to 10 other documents (transcripts, writing samples, portfolio pieces, etc.) per student.
