Services for Employers
The Guilford Graduate
Guilford graduates enter the workforce with competencies attractive to today's employers. Guilford's governance by consensus, mediation and conflict resolution programs, and campus committees (all of which have student representation) provide students with valuable, practical, out-of-classroom experiences.
The Guilford curriculum emphasizes both theory and practice, providing students frequent opportunities for research, internships, preprofessional preparation, community service, team projects, and international experiences. Guilford's rigorous liberal arts program prepares students for careers by fostering the development of significant workplace skills including:
- demonstrated leadership
- human relations/interpersonal skills
- effective communication skills
- refined analytical and critical thinking skills
- respect for diversity
- a strong service and work ethic
- experience in group processes and teamwork
- technological skills

How Career and Community Learning Can Work for You
Career and Community Learning is eager to help employers who seek quality employees connect with accomplished Guilford students and alumni. We strive to meet employers' needs with prompt, friendly, customized service. Here are some of the ways we can work for you:
Posting a Position with the Career Center: Employers are invited to submit notices of full time, part-time, internships, and summer jobs to Career and Community Learning. Listings may be submitted by fax, mail, telephone, or e-mail. The CACL then widely disseminates the listings using notebooks in the Career Library, on-line postings, newsletters, special postings throughout the campus, and mailings to appropriate academic departments. Please fill out the attached job listing formand fax it to (336)316-2464 or mail it to Career & Community Learning, 5800 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410. You may also email your form to careers@guilford.edu. Please fill out the form completely.
On-Campus Recruiting: Career and Community Learning can arrange for on-campus recruiting visits throughout the academic year. To view the recruiting calendar for this semester, please visit our Calendar of Events. To ensure that your visit will be beneficial, two weeks advance planning is desirable. Contact Kate Konecny at 336-316-2187 for assistance.
NACElink: NACElink is a national, web-based system for recruiting college students for all types of employment. NACElink is available to employers to post jobs and search for students and new graduates in several ways. Select the link to learn more.
Career Fairs: Guilford is a founding member of the North Carolina Career Consortium, a group of six selective liberal arts institutions. The NCCC sponsors two career fairs each year. The fall (November) career fair, held in downtown Greensboro, is an event that includes both a morning information session (open to students and alumni) and an afternoon interview session (seniors only). Employers may participate in one or both events. The spring (March) fair, held on the Guilford College campus, is an information sharing opportunity for nonprofit organizations. These events are excellent ways for employers to maximize their recruiting dollars since they offer access to students and alumni from six colleges in one convenient setting.
Special Events and Programs: With advanced planning, Career and Community Learning can arrange any number of special programs to connect employers with the Guilford community of students, alumni, faculty, and administrators. These special programs may take the form of information sessions, classroom visits, receptions, presentations, plant visits, etc. We would be pleased to develop a special program which suits your company's or agency's particular needs.
