Author of New Monasticism to Appear Sept. 11

Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, author of the book New Monasticism, will give a talk Friday, Sept. 11, at noon in The Hut, the headquarters of campus ministry.

New Monasticism is a social movement exploring the idea of lifestyle prescribed by Jesus Christ as a realistic possibility in the present age.

Wilson-Hartgrove, a graduate of Duke University’s Divinity School, is a founder of the Rutba Community in Durham. N.C.

The talk will kick off a three-week book study of New Monasticism led by students in the Quaker Leadership Scholars Program (QLSP). All members of the college community are invited to join the study.
