Tickets for April 14 Concert by The Wailin’ Jennys on Sale

Wailin JennysThe Wailin’ Jennys, the award-winning Canadian contemporary folk trio, will return to Guilford Wednesday, April 14, as part of their current tour.

The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. in Dana Auditorium on campus.  Advance tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 or at the Greensboro Coliseum Advance Box Office.  Premium seats are $35 and general admission seats are $25.

The Jennys began a new tour in February after a sabbatical of more than a year.  They released their latest recording, “Live at the Mauch Chunk Opera House,” in mid-August and expect to release a new studio recording by summer. The group performed at Guilford in September 2006.

Soprano Ruth Moody and mezzo Nicky Mehta are original members of the group, which was formed in 2002. Alto Heather Masse joined the group in 2007.  All three are vocalists and instrumentalists.  They have toured with fiddler and mandolinist Jeremy Penner. 

The group has three other recordings, including the Juno Award-winning “40 Days” (2004) and “Firecracker” (2006), which spent more than 30 weeks on the Billboard Bluegrass chart.
