Rabbi David Saperstein to Make Presentation on Use and Abuse of Religion in Elections April 23
David Saperstein, recently named the most influential rabbi in America by Newsweek, will make a presentation Thursday, April 23, at 4 p.m. in the Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Auditorium. He is expected to speak on "The Use and Abuse of Religion in the American Elections."
Saperstein is a social-justice advocate who sits on President Obama's Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He is the director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and involved in many other social justice causes including the Coalition to Preserve Religious Liberty.
Father of Danny Saperstein '12, he topped Newsweek's third annual list of 50 most influential rabbis in America in the April 13 issue.
While on campus April 23, Saperstein will also meet with students and faculty informally.
