Guilford Ranked Among Best Colleges, Receives 95 Green Rating from Princeton Review
Guilford is again ranked among America’s best higher education institutions according to U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and Forbes.
America's Best Colleges. In the 2010 edition of the U.S. News rankings, Guilford is ranked alphabetically among 65 institutions in the third tier of 266 national liberal arts colleges that emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half their degrees in the arts and sciences. U.S. News rankings are computed on the basis of both statistical and subjective data compiled by the news magazine.
Guilford’s peer assessment rating of 2.9 (on a 5.0 scale) represents a positive view of the college by presidents, provosts and deans of admission who are surveyed by U.S. News. In fact, Guilford continues to be ranked among the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the peer assessment category.

The Best 371 Colleges. Guilford has been selected for The Princeton Review’s guidebook each of the 18 years it has been published. The 2010 edition includes only about 15 percent of colleges and universities nationally (only 11 in North Carolina), and is based on institutional data and student surveys.
The college received a 95 “green” rating for its environmental sustainability commitments—the third-highest rating among North Carolina colleges and universities. WQFS-FM was ranked No. 8 among “great college radio stations,” hitting the Top 10 for the ninth consecutive year. Guilford dropped off the guidebook’s “Is it Food?” list, reflective of a high level of student satisfaction in dining services.
