Project Vote Smart Bus to Stop at Guilford Oct. 26
The Project Vote Smart (PVS) bus, nicknamed “the voter’s self-defense system,” will make a stop at Guilford Friday, Oct. 26. The bus will be parked in front of New Garden Hall and will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
The bus is touring the nation to, in the words of PVS, “teach voters how to defend themselves against the rhetoric and misinformation that come out of political campaigns today.” Six PVS staff members will make multi-media presentations on the bus on the hour and the half hour.
Project Vote Smart, a self-described citizens’ organization based in the Montana Rockies, was founded in 1992 to provide easily accessible facts on candidates running for political office nationwide. Richard Kimball, president of the nonpartisan data clearinghouse, was speaker for Guilford’s opening academic convocation in 2004. Kyle Dell, assistant professor of political science, is on the organization’s executive board.
