March 28 Observatory Talk Will Explore Spring Sky

The spring sky will be the subject of the next Guilford College Observatory Open House, scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at 8 p.m. The program will take place in Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Auditorium, followed by a tour of the college’s Cline Observatory and, weather permitting, viewing through the main telescope. The program is free and open to the public.

Faculty from the college’s Department of Physics will present a talk and multimedia tour of the season’s night sky, using the auditorium’s new dome planetarium projector. The presentation will highlight the planets and star formations visible locally during the spring.

Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Auditorium is located in the Frank Family Science Center, accessible by the campus’s North Entrance (Arcadia Drive/George Fox Road).

The Department of Physics presents programs and tours of Cline Observatory monthly during the academic year. For more information, call 316-2193 or visit the observatory’s Web page at www.guilford.edu/observatory.
