Author to Discuss Garry Trudeau’s Doonesbury Oct. 4

DoonesburyEditorial cartoon expert Chris Lamb will speak about the cartoon writing of Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. in Guilford’s Art Gallery, located in Hege Library. The talk is in conjunction with the exhibit "Doonesbury in a Time of War," on display in the gallery through Oct. 11.

Trudeau will open this year’s Bryan Series with an appearance Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. at War Memorial Auditorium. About 200 tickets are available for purchase.

Lamb is an associate professor of communication at the College of Charleston and the author of Drawn to Extremes: The Use and Abuse of Editorial Cartoons in the United States. The talk, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free and open to the public.
