General Information for Faculty, Staff and Students
Ragan-Brown Field House
Ragan-Brown Field House, the site of the inauguration ceremony, will be closed Tues., April 8, through Sun., April 13. The gravel parking lot behind Ragan-Brown will be restricted beginning at 10 pm Tuesday. The Alumni Gym building will be open through Thurs., April 10, but closed (except for faculty and staff offices) on Fri., April 11.
Parking
Beginning at 10:30 pm Thursday, parking spaces in the vicinity of Ragan-Brown Field House will be reserved for inauguration delegates and invited guests. Cars parked in the reserved areas Friday morning will be towed.
Spaces to be reserved include those:
- immediately adjacent to Ragan-Brown,
- in the gravel lots adjacent to the baseball field,
- between Ragsdale House and the tennis courts,
- in the Milner Hall lot.
Inauguration delegates and guests will be directed to the reserved spaces when they arrive on campus.
Persons who ordinarily park in the reserved areas should plan to move their cars by 10:30 pm Thursday to (or park when they arrive on campus Friday in) the following places:
- the Bryan lot,
- the student apartment lot,
- the lot behind Dana Auditorium.
Campus Offices
All campus offices will be closed beginning at 3 pm Friday so that members of the community may join in the inauguration celebration.
The Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony will be in the gymnasium of Ragan-Brown Field House. Faculty, staff and students should plan to be seated by 3:15 pm. The processional will begin promptly at 3:30 pm and will include student flag bearers, trustees, faculty, alumni representatives, delegates from 100 colleges, universities and the community and the platform party. Those arriving at 3:30 pm or after will be seated following the processional.
Reception
The inauguration reception will be held in the Carnegie Room of Hege Library immediately following the ceremony. All ceremony attendees are invited to the reception. Due to the reception, the library will be closed from 3-7 pm Friday.
