Hendricks Hall Parking Lot to be Closed Beginning June 26 for Repaving

Hendricks Parking Lot will be closed to all traffic between Friday, June 26, and Saturday, Aug. 15, for repaving and upgrading. While this project will significantly improve the functionality and appearance of the parking lot, we also realize this closing will create an inconvenience. We are taking steps to minimize the impact as much as possible, including:

  • Signs will be posted on campus announcing the project and directing pedestrians to safe walking routes away from the construction area.
  • The Heat bus and Guilford County School buses will not be allowed access to the parking lot during the construction.
  • Recommended alternate parking includes the Frank Science Center lots, as well as lots adjacent to the Alumni Gym and Ragan-Brown Field House, New Garden Hall and Dana Auditorium.
  • The small lot in front of the Early College modular buildings will be used to provide additional handicapped parking during the construction.
  • As a convenience to evening students and faculty, shuttle service is being planned between the lots and the campus. More information about the shuttle will be forthcoming.
  • Everyone is encouraged to check the Buzz regularly for further announcements about the construction schedule.
  • Students needing special accommodations during this time should send an e-mail describing their needs to Project Manager Jim Dees.

Thank you for your patience.
