Greensboro Symphony to Present Five Programs at Guilford in 2009-10
The Greensboro Symphony will present five programs in its Masterworks Series at Dana Auditorium during its 50th anniversary season of 2009-10.
The symphony will present programs on Saturday, Oct. 31; Saturday, Jan. 23; Friday, Feb. 19; Saturday, Feb. 20; and Saturday, March 27—all at 8 p.m. Tickets are available online, by calling the symphony office at 336-335-5456 (x 224) and at the Greensboro Coliseum Advance Box Office.
The performance schedule is:
- Oct. 31—“Tchaikovsky Spectacular” featuring Dmitry Sitkovetsky on violin.
- Jan. 23—“Three for Three (Tf3)” featuring violinists Zach De Pue and Nick Kendall and double bassist Ranaan Meyer. Wendy Looker, director of choral activities at Guilford, will discuss the evening’s music at 7 p.m. in the Moon Room.
- Feb. 19-20—“Mozart and More Special Chamber Orchestra Concert” featuring pianist Bella Davidovich.
- March 27—“French Fare with Stars of Tomorrow” featuring Julian Schwarz and Stefani Collins. Schwarz is the son of Eastern Music Festival music director Gerard Schwarz.

Dana Auditorium on campus seats 1,000 and has been recognized for its outstanding acoustics for musical performances. It hosts a full schedule of Eastern Music Festival concerts each summer.
