Art Faculty Exhibit Opens Oct. 28
Ten faculty members in the Department of Art will show their work as part of the college’s biennial faculty exhibition, on display Oct. 28-Dec. 18 in the Art Gallery, located in Hege Library.
The exhibition includes paintings, oil and pastel drawings, sculpture, ceramics, etchings, wood cuttings and mixed media pieces by faculty, including:
- Adele Wayman, Hege Professor of Art (painting)
- Roy Nydorf, professor of art (drawing, sculpture)
- David Newton, associate professor of art (sculpture)
- Heea Crownfield, visiting assistant professor of art (sculpture)
- Charlie Tefft, lecturer (ceramics)
- Phil Haralam, lecturer (ceramics)
- Mark Dixon, (mixed media)
- Maia Dery, instructor (photography)
- John Gall, lecturer (printmaking)
- Rob Igoe, lecturer, (painting)
A reception for the artists will take place Friday, Nov. 6, from 5:30-8 p.m., featuring a musical performance by Dixon’s band, Invisible, at 7 p.m. The performance will include a playing of the group’s Selectric Piano, a custom-built hybrid of an IBM Selectric typewriter and a piano. The piece, constructed by Dixon and Jodi Staley, will be part of the exhibit from Nov. 2-5.
