Guilford County Democratic Party to Stage Sixth District Congressional Debate
at Guilford College March 25

The three candidates competing for the Democratic nomination in the Sixth District U.S. House race will debate Tuesday, March 25, at 8 p.m. in Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Auditorium of the Frank Family Science Center at Guilford College.  The event is open to the public at no charge.

Teresa Sue Bratton of Greensboro, Johnny Carter of Summerfield and Jay Ovittore of Greensboro will participate in the debate, which is being presented by the 6th Congressional District of the North Carolina Democratic Party.  Kyle Dell, assistant professor of political science at Guilford, will moderate.

The Democratic winner in North Carolina’s May 6 primary election will face incumbent Howard Coble, a Republican of Greensboro who has served for 12 terms since 1985.  He is unopposed in the primary.  Coble is a 1953 graduate of Guilford College.  He is scheduled to visit campus Wednesday, March 26, to meet with students.

The Sixth District is comprised of all of Moore and Randolph counties and portions of Alamance, Davidson, Guilford and Rowan counties.

The Frank Family Science Center is located near the intersection of New Garden Road and Arcadia Drive, at the northwest entrance to campus.  Public parking is available in lots near the science center.  Directional assistance will be provided.
