The Second City to Perform Improv and Sketch Comedy Oct. 27, Replacing John Oliver

second cityChicago’s legendary comedy theatre The Second City will appear at Dana Auditorium Saturday, Oct. 27, at 9 p.m., as part of Guilford’s Homecoming Weekend.  The performance will feature some of the best sketches, songs and improvisations from Second City’s 45-year-plus history.

The Second City troupe replaces British comedian John Oliver, who is unable to appear due to a movie filming commitment.  Existing tickets will be honored, and refunds may be requested at the point of purchase.

Founded in Chicago in 1959, The Second City has become the premier training ground for the comedy world’s best and brightest, including Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, George Wendt, Martin Short, John Candy, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Stephen Colbert and countless others.

The Dana Auditorium audience will be treated to a 90-minute performance featuring hilarious satire and cutting-edge improvisation by seven comedy stars in the making.
