Evelyn Blount Named Interim Library Director
Evelyn Blount has been appointed interim director of Hege Library for the remainder of the 2008-09 school year. Blount succeeds Mary Ellen Chijioke, who will retire at the end of December.
Blount began working at Hege Library as a reference librarian in 1999, becoming the head of information and reference services in 2000. As interim director, she is responsible for the overall management of the library, including program development and evaluation, organization of operations, budgeting, personnel administration and external relations both within and beyond the college.
She holds a B.S. degree from Elizabeth City State University and a master of library science degree from N.C. Central University.
