Bob Woodward Discusses New Book, “The War Within,” on 60 Minutes Sept. 7

Bob WoodwardBob Woodward, who gave the concluding Bryan Series lecture in April, will discuss the fourth book in his series about the Bush presidency at war on “60 Minutes” Sept. 7.  The program airs at 7 p.m. on CBS.

The network describes the segment as “an eye-opening interview” in which Woodward reveals the existence of a “breakthrough” capability that enables the U.S. military to locate and kill the enemy – a capability reportedly being used in Iraq right now.

The interview with correspondent Scott Pelley is based on Woodward’s book, The War Within, scheduled for release this month, which also discloses the thoughts and strategies governing the war in Iraq that come directly from President Bush and his inner circle.

Woodward is the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter and assistant managing editor for The Washington Post.
